Ceremony Room

Ceremonie Room
A warm circular space for ceremony, healing, silence and gathering.
The Dome Auditorium is one of the heart spaces of Kura Waka. With its dome-shaped ceiling, wooden floor, soft cushions and the warmth of the fire, the room invites you to slow down from the moment you enter.
The simplicity of the space feels grounding.
The round shape creates a natural sense of safety and togetherness.
Because of the dome ceiling, the acoustics are soft, elegant and deeply supportive. Sound, silence, voice and music move through the room in a way that can be felt in the body.
This space is used for healing sessions, ceremonies, meditation, sound journeys, circles, bodywork and moments of deep rest.
Whether you lie on the treatment table beside the fire, sit in circle with others or simply take a moment to breathe, the Dome holds a quiet invitation:
to land, to listen and to return to yourself.
Gymnasium

Gymnasium
A spacious, light-filled room for movement, teaching and gathering.
The Great Hall is one of the most open and vibrant spaces of Kura Waka. With its high wooden ceiling, warm colours, mezzanine and large windows overlooking the garden, the room carries a natural feeling of space and connection.
The heated linoleum floor makes the room comfortable for both stillness and movement. The sound system supports music, voice and guided sessions, while the direct access to the garden allows the rhythm of a gathering to move easily between inside and outside.
The Great Hall offers an excellent setting for retreats, group practices, teachings, ceremonies and creative gatherings.
A warm and living space where body, breath, rhythm and community can come together.
Gathering Room

The Conference Room
A warm 56m² room for dining, meetings, seminars and shared gatherings.
The Gathering Room is centered around a handcrafted wooden table that can be arranged in an S, O or U shape and seats over 30 people. This makes the room flexible for both formal and informal gatherings.
The space is suitable for seminars, lectures, conferences, group meals, team meetings, creative sessions and intimate concerts or music circles.
With central heating, a projector and a warm lived-in atmosphere, the room offers both comfort and character. Wooden floors, soft light, books, art and natural details create a welcoming setting where people can easily gather, speak, listen, eat and connect.
Sweatlodge

Sweatlodge
A sacred outdoor space for purification, prayer and ceremony.
The sweatlodge at Kura Waka can be made available for private groups, retreats or ceremonial gatherings in consultation with Michaela.
The lodge is not a sauna, but a traditional ceremonial space where Water, Fire, Stone and Breath come together. Inside the lodge, heated stones are brought in from the fire and water is poured over them, creating steam, warmth and a deep space for prayer, release and remembrance.
For more than 20 years, Michaela has been guiding sweatlodge ceremonies at Kura Waka, rooted in the Chippewa–Cree tradition passed on through Native Elder Ron Evans.
Private sweatlodge ceremonies can be created around a specific intention, such as healing, transition, community, grief, celebration or reconnection.
If you wish to use the sweatlodge with your own group or facilitator, we ask that you contact us first. Because this is a sacred and powerful ceremony, every request is discussed personally to make sure the space, intention and way of holding are aligned with the values of Kura Waka.
The current sweatlodge is approximately 4 meters wide and includes an altar and a cement fire pit, created to hold and preserve the warmth during ceremony.
Garden

The Garden
A green and peaceful space to rest, breathe and reconnect with nature.
The garden of Kura Waka surrounds the house with herbs, fruit trees, berries, flowers, grass, shaded corners and quiet places to sit. It offers space to slow down between sessions, retreats or gatherings — with hammocks, beanbags, a terrace, pond and places to simply be outside.
Throughout the seasons, the garden carries its own rhythm. Blossoms, roses, herbs, fruit, morning mist and open sky all become part of the experience of being here.
Guests can read in the sun, rest under the trees, jump on the trampoline, drink tea on the terrace or walk through the garden into the surrounding fields.
From Kura Waka there is direct access to a beautiful walk across the acres, offering space, silence and wide views over the land.
The garden is not just outside space.
It is part of the retreat itself — a place to land, wander, breathe and remember the simple nourishment of nature.

The Blue Room feels like a small world of its own. With peacock feathers, warm lights, a surfboard and colourful details, the room carries both stillness and playfulness.

The room is suitable for two adults and one or two small children, making it a lovely place for couples, small families or guests who wish to stay close to the heart of Kura Waka.
